Changes in business occur on a regular basis and often result when mergers, acquisitions, and other business developments have taken place. Partnerships form to enhance technology development and business growth and these usually cause change to the organization as well. Business planning is sometimes postponed until the companies merging or partnering have allowed for a stabilizing time and is left for a later date often not occurring. Regardless of the logistics and motivation associated with business changes, there is a need to be mindful of how 'the business' manifest itself with product demands in the market place. Core competencies often reside in a company whether in an active or dormant stage and suffer if business alignment does not exist. In principal, however, people are doing work that they believe in for the most part. The alignment of work directly to the market place is critical. Part of this criticality links to technology and partnerships. The extension of a technical arm can enhance technology, introduce a process, or assure components are available for a product development. Business to business (B2B) influences can have very positive impacts when properly administered, also.
