the prediction of the durability of thick composite pipes, submitted to cyclic temperature and relative humidity conditions, requires the computation of the time-dependent through-thickness moisture concentration and internal stress fields. The moisture concentration due to those periodic conditions reveals two different patterns: firstly a transient pattern inside the pipe and secondly a fluctuating one very close to the inner and outer pipe surfaces. The aim of the present paper is to assess the effect of both the concentration and temperature time-dependent fields onto the hygro-thermal internal stresses.
