Against the backdrop of concerns related to energy and the environment, there is a possibility of further problems resulting from a continued increase in the number of vehicles. In order to prevent this from happening, in October 1994, Honda proposed the Intelligent Community Vehicle System (ICVS) as a focal point for exploring, together with members of society, what the world of vehicles in the 21st century will be like. ICVS is a more convenient, environmentally friendly system in which numerous users share small, highly efficient electric vehicles to ensure individual mobility.
