International Cooperation for Information Exchange on Electric Vehicle Technologies and Programmes at Annex I of Implementing Agreement for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles in IEA

We have initiated the activities of ANNEX 1 "Information Exchange on Technologies and Programmes of Electric Vehicles (EVs)" in EV & HEV implementing agreement of IEA since we signed an agreement in November, 1993. The member countries who concluded an agreement in 1993 were only Canada and Japan, and in the following year 1994 the total number of signers became nine as Austria, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom participated Annex I one after another. Furthermore, Germany, Korea, South Africa and EU joined the agreement by December 1997, and were followed by Belgium and Finland when the 11th technical meeting was held; as a result, the total number of participants became twelve countries and one organization. The operating agency (OA) of this annex is Japan. We hold the technical meeting twice a year. We are collecting EV data in each country to make up the database. A glossary and a data collection form were developed for the information exchange, and the data collection started in 1994. A form of the questionnaire consists of 24 formats for four sections; "Census Data (statistical data on EV popularization)", "EV Technical Profiles Data", "EV Policy and Programmes" and "EV Practical Data." In this report, we presented the summary of the activities of Annex I with the collection and analysis of the data during these five years.
