摘要

In wireless sensor networks, sensor data is usually distributed using a connection-less, multicast-capable transmission service. However, especially in the error-prone wireless environment, packet loss and varying transport delays are common phenomena. In this paper, we present a new way of improving reliability of sensor data distribution without compromising network efficiency. Even better, we show that, when using our technique, transmission interval lengths may be increased, resulting in a gain in network capacity and, as a matter of fact, reduction of overall power-consumption. The proposed solution is applicable to wireless networks in general, and sensor networks in particular.
