This paper described a system for stabilizing the barrel assembly of a tactical rifle to compensate for small user-induced disturbances. The overall system architecture is described. The two critical components for feasibility of the system, the actuation and power electronic components, are discussed. An actuator was fabricated that fits into the available space while maintaining the required force and displacement specifications. The power electronic drivers were also fabricated and tested. It is shown that amplifier meets the required electrical specifications.
