In this paper, a third and fourth harmonic FET self-oscillating mixer (SOM) operating at 5.8 GHz and 7.6 GHz, respectively, with high measured conversion gain (8.75 dB) is presented for the first time to the authors' knowledge. The proposed structure is fully balanced to provide inherent RF-LO isolation and suppression of harmonics and AM noise, but it does not require complex and space-intensive input baluns.
