Hydraulic properties of compacted calcareous and saline soils of Cyprus

摘要

The purpose of this study was to characterize the soil-water characteristic curves of calcareous and saline soils of Cyprus of different lithologies and genesis. Soil-water characteristic curves were experimentally determined and the observed data are presented with fitted models using van Genuchten's equation. It was observed that total soluble salts and calcium carbonate, which are in abundance in marine soils of Cyprus, significantly influence the soil-water characteristic curve.
