摘要

One of the main barriers facing the in-situ bioremediation of chlorinated solvents is the reliable and efficient delivery of carbon substrates. The substrates are needed to stimulate the biological process by donating electrons for reductive dechlorination to take place. The choice of substrate and method of delivery can lead to gassing in soils and clogging of boreholes as illustrated by the laboratory column tests and field case study described in the paper.
