摘要

This paper describes geo-environmental site investigations carried out in association with an industrial solid waste landfill built amid a mangrove area, at Northwest shore in Guanabara Bay's, in Rio de Janeiro - Brazil. Chemical analysis indicated hazardous waste and hydro-geological investigation showed that rain-water supply can contribute to contaminant transport beyond the landfill. Geophysical survey has shown resistivity relationship with heavy metals and organic compounds concentrations was useful for zoning of the landfill.
