This paper deals with the method to predict the randomacoustic vibration of equipment mounted on honeycombpanel, which is the common case of satellite. Theprediction method is based on Statistical Energy Approach(SEA) and experiment results show that the damping lossfactor is dominating parameter rather than coupling lossfactor for most of satellite honeycomb panels underacoustic environment. This makes the prediction approachsimple and possible to analyze the each panel instead ofone mounted on satellite. Based on the experiment result,normalization of damping loss factor is studied relative tomaterial modulus, size, and thickness of honeycomb panel.The study investigates three methods for predicting thevibration attenuation effect from the loading mass whichsimulates the mounted equipment to several honeycombpanels. Acoustical testing is carried out to verify theprediction result.
