摘要

The aim of task E of the European Project MAST-3 COSINUS is to provide results using numericalrnmodels, in order to include the knowledge resulting from the other tasks. Various test cases have beenrndefined, including a schematic 2DV estuary, in order to study the behaviour of the different modelsrnwhen applied to a bidimensional vertical tidal flow. This document is a compilation of the resultsrnprovided by the members of Task E.rnThe comparison tends to show discrepancies concerning currents and surface elevation, and enormousrndifferences on salinity and sediment concentration. Some explanations have been drawn, mainlyrnconcerning differences in numerical schemes. In addition, it’s obvious that the sediment concentration isrnaffected by hydrodynamics, and is particularly sensitive to the bottom shear stress description. It seemsrnthat the prediction of the sediment behaviour needs a very good reproduction of hydrodynamics. Thisrnidea seems to be confirmed by the fact that, after calibration of the models on hydrodynamics, thernresults regarding sediment are much better.
