A novel approach of pyramid model is proposed to form voltage-grading and district-grading (VGDG) operation scheme of power grid under different focus. The method operates by joint use of pyramid modeling and energy saving-based assessment. Structural model of transmission grid is first generated using the idea of pyramid modeling and information framework, to facilitate the theoretical analysis of VGDG. Then initial VGDG schemes of power grid are obtained by expertise based on the comprehensive analysis of network status. Moreover, an energy saving-based evaluation system, which takes static security check, short circuit current calculation and transient stability analysis into account, is established to achieve the optimal VGDG scheme of power grid. Compared with traditional means, our method is able to reduce the involvement of subjective factors and insure the dynamic selection of optimal VGDG scheme. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed technique is feasible in both theory and actual cases.
