摘要

There are few things as boring as a dead nuclear plant, or for that matter, any industrial facility that has been permanently shut down. Its purpose is done. Instead of being a prime company asset, many now view it as a diversion. Active decommissioning can be exciting - the planning - the execution - things are changing every day. But SAFSTOR - it is hard to be excited about babysitting a reactor that will never run again. However, overseeing a reactor is. still important - from radiological safety and industrial safety standpoints, as well as company risk. This paper will provide some lessons learned and thinking points when planning a SAFSTOR period. It is based on experiencing two SAFSTOR facilities and observing others.
