Application of Network technology in Modern Press Shop

This paper shows the advantages brought by network technology to production and management, through thernapplication of network technology in press shop of Shanghai Volkswagen. The following items will be introduced: fieldbus,rnequipment operation based on TC/PIP, production management based on TC /PIP and managing system for the wholernpress shop.rnThe fieldbus replacing the traditional point to point connection, makes the equipment installation easier, shortens therninstallation and commission time, and decreases the opportunity of chaos by connection problem. Due to complexity ofrnpress equipment, we need to share some information between different operation panels. Thanks to network technology,rnthis can be easily realized. The management of production line is acquiring data from PLCs of control, through thernconnection of Ethernet between PC and PLCs to store the data in one database in PC. Using the tools provided byrndatabase, the running of production line is analyzed. The managing system for the whole press shop is using the data fromrnproduction line running, blanks, parts and dies for the production management to make production plans, whichrnguaranties the JIT production of the shop.
