The example of Changan SC6350 demonstrates the use of the explicit finite element method in the optimization of thernvehicle structure. Some of the factors that affect the simulation were argued first, then the entire finite element m odel ofrnthe vehicle is built using ANSYS/LS -DYNA3D. The analysis resulted in valuable information concerning front–endrndeformation behavior, deceleration variation during a simulated 48.3km/h frontal barrier impact, and well coincidedrnwith the experiment carried out at th e same time.rnBy FEM modeling, computer simulation and analysis, structure modification could be carried out accordingly andrnpassive safety could be improved with higher efficient and less expenditure.
