摘要

For a long time there has been a known relationship between the northern Heavy Mineral (HM)rndeposits of the Murray Basin to the extensive north east trending ridges in the area. These ridgesrnhave been a targeting tool for exploration and have uncovered some signifi cant discoveries, some ofrnwhich have turned into mining projects. Bemax’s Ginkgo and Snapper deposits are good examplesrnof how the faulting helped create an economic deposit but also result in signifi cant planning issuesrnin the exploitation of these deposits. Material balance, induration and pyrite issues have beenrnmade easier to manage through good geological understanding of the deposits.
