The paper reports on the results of surface geochemical survey in the area of the Barnowko-Mostno- Buszewo oil/gas deposit in the Northwestern Poland. Totally, 686 soil gas samples were collected from measurement sites located along the 3D-seismics lines, in rectangular 200×500-meters grid. The samples were analyzed with the gas chromatography for concentrations of methane, ethane, propane, I-butane, nbutane, I-pentane, n-pentane and ethylene, propylene, and 1-butene. Methane concentrations varied from 0,05 to 3,868 ppm. Maximum concentrations of total alkanes C2-C5 was 1.04 ppm and that of total alkenes C2-C4 was 0.28 ppm. The results indicated the presence of dispersed hydrocarbons in the nearsurface zone, derived from deep gas, oil/gas and oil accumulations. Such survey can be applied in petroleum exploration carried on in the perspective areas of the Main Dolomite, which have not been drilled, as yet.
