Terrestrial actual evapotranspiration (ET) is an importantrncomponent of the terrestrial water cycle and links thernhydrological, energy, and carbon cycles. Considering therndiverse landscapes and multi-climatic features, a hybridrnremotely sensed ET estimation model named ETMonitorrnwas developed to estimate the daily actualrnevapotranspiration globally at a spatial resolution of 1 km.rnThe ETMonitor model uses a variety of biophysicalrnparameters derived from microwave and optical remoternsensing observations as input data to estimate the dailyrnET for all sky conditions. This dataset provides importantrnsupport to the large-scale evaluation of the environment,rnand some preliminary applications were conducted forrnregional- to global-scale mapping and monitoring ofrnwater consumption and drought severity.
