In Forest DRAGON 3, synergy of Earth Observationrnproducts to derive information of decadal trends of forestrnin northeast China was investigated. Following uprnthe results of Forest-DRAGON 1 and 2, Growing StockrnVolume (GSV) products from different years were investigatedrnto derive information on vegetational in northeastrnChina. The BIOMASAR maps of 2005 and 2010,rnproduced within the previous DRAGON projects, set thernbase for all analyses. We took a closer look at scale problemsrnregarding GSV derivation, which are introduced byrndiffering landcover within one pixel, to investigate differencesrnthroughout pixel classes with varying landcoverrnclass percentages. We developed an approach to selectrnpixels containing forest only with the aim of undertakingrna detailed analysis on retrieved GSV values for such pixelsrnfor the years 2005 and 2010. Using existing land coverrnproducts at different scales, the plausibility of changes inrnthe BIOMASAR maps were checked.
