The gravity satellite mission "Gravity field andrnsteady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer" (GOCE,rnFig. 1) made its final observations in the fall of 2013.rnBy then it had exceeded its expected lifespan of 20rnmonths with additional 35 months and observed thernEarth's gravitational field from a lower orbit asrnoriginally planned during the last 6 months of itsrnmission lifetime. Thus, the mission collected morerndata from the Earth’s gravitational field thanrnexpected, and more comprehensive global geoidrnmodels have been derived ever since.
