Concentration measurements of 21 types of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) bound to paniculate matter smaller than 1 urn (PM_(1.0)) have taken place in two sites with different traffic intensity in the city of Brno, Czech Republic. Health risks of exposure to the contaminated air have been assessed in the article with the focus on seven PAHs with likely carcinogenic effects on human population - adults and children up to the age of six living near the road.
