The outcomes of measuring the concentration of byproducts of ClO_2 disinfection of drinking water carried out with the help of gas chromatography with mass detector are presented in the paper. The situation in a selected region of the Czech Republic was monitored. The emphasis was laid on the content of trihalogenmethanes which have a potential impact on the health of exposed population. Noncarcinogenic risks were calculated for newborns and infants, pre-school children, and adults. Ingestion, inhalation and dermal contact were considered as the pathways of exposure.
