Sulige Gas Field locates at the northwest area of the Yi-Shan Slope in Eerduosi Basin. A multi-component seismic exploration test has been carried out at the southern part of the Sulige Gas Field in 2001. The test results provided the feasible methods of the gas sand identification and the evaluation on Member H8 of the upper Paleozoic. In this paper, it has been described that the seismic responses of the gas sand in the zones of interest have been studied, indicators of the zones of rich gas sand have been obtained using P wave and P-S waves data. The test also obtained some geological applications in terms of the statistic analysis on the specific seismic and the geological conditions. Petrophysical parameters, modeling techniques such as seismic petrophysical modeling and the pre-stack seismic modeling based on the drilling and the logging data as well as the multipl-component seismic exploration data were also obtained. Indicators of the H8 gas sand with the high porosity proposed in the paper could be directly applied to the further exploration and the evaluation in the Sulige Gas Field.
