Development of Mucoadhesive Sublingual Delivery System for Buprenorphine

Mucoadhesive sublingual tablets were formulatedrnusing hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose. Formulationsrnwere evaluated for swelling and mucoadhesivernproperties, and for disintegration time using a novelrnflow-thru apparatus designed in our laboratory. Withrnincrease in polymer concentration, average matrixrnswelling values increased, disintegration time wasrnprolonged and adhesive force was increased.
