As part of the new Tire Recycling Unit (TRU), National Rubber required a dust collector to receive and filter the miscellaneous dust from their (3) granulating systems. The product to be collected would be a mix of various sizes rubber dust and fibres. The filtering capability of a conventional pulse-jet baghouse would be adequate to meet the environmental requirement, and the main attention zeroed in on the manner with which to handle the fibrous product.
