The roles of vibration analysis and infrared thermography in monitoring air handling equipment

Integrated PdM programs are the natural progression and maturation of using technology to optimize maintenance activities. Organizations worldwide are moving their individual technology programs together to take advantage of the synergies that are created by using the technologies in concert to assess equipment condition. The integration of vibration and infrared thermography is a valuable strategy in developing an optimized maintenance program for air handling systems in facilities maintenance. Significant benefits can be realized by taking these technologies into the facilities and building maintenance area, especially for large institutions or areas where critical research or service is being performed.
