We have performed experiments of the laser-driven impulse enhancement owing to 'confinement effect' and the high-speed launch of the projectile using the 300-J-class single pulsed laser. The launch speed and the momentum coupling coefficient between different confinement geometries which are unconfmed (Case A), conical duct-confined (Case B) and NaCl window-confined (Case C) conditions clearly have different launch performance. In comparison with Case A, the momentum coupling coefficient; C_m is increased about two and six times by Case B and Case C, respectively. Especially, the disk-like projectile made of polyacetal is launched at about 160m/s speed range in the case that the projectile is backed by NaCl window. The corresponding C_m is achieved more than 700 N/MW. In Case B, although the launch performance is influenced by atmospheric pressure, a recoilless launcher is realized with larger impulse than Case A. On the other hand, although the system of Case C experiences a recoil, the launch performance is not changed much under any atmospheric pressure and the large impulse can be realized.
