Based on the study of tissue optics related with the laser irradiation blood therapy, a new treatment mehtod--extravascular low-level laser irradiation therapy (ELLLI) is developed. The veins of 30 patients with cerebrovascular disease combined with diabetes, asthma were treated by He--Ne laser (632.8nm, 25mW) which was delivered by an optics fiber. The fiber was outside the patient's skin and the laser irradiated on the blood vessel perpendicularly. the therapy time was 60 minutes each time and about 7--10 times a course of the treatment. The values of blood sugar, blood--fat and hemorrheology were measured as the effective indexes.. After the treatment the effective indexes and the symptom of the patients were all improved. With the advantages of simple and safety (no medical infection), laser extravascular irradiation therapy is likely to be a new medical method for heart brain and other diseases.
