Since TMN has been developed by using the different platform, the class management has several problems. In order to overcome these problems, the Farming methodology that is based on the Farmer model has been suggested. The Farming methodology is a new methodoloyg to design and to implement the distributed object such as the agent of TMN network management system that uses the high speed network such as ATM and FDDI as the basic network The result that is gained when the Farming methodology is applied to TMN agent is evaluated by comparing with TMN systme that is developed by not applying the concept of the Farming (non-Farmin methodology). As the resutl, if the network that composes DCN is developed as a network with the speed higher or equal to ATM, the performance does not show much difference between the Farming methodology and the non-Farming methodology. However, in the aspect of the development cost, the Farming methodology is relatively better. Therefore, we can find that if the network with the speed higher or equal to ATM is composed of DCN, it is desirable to develop the system by the Farming methodology.
