This paper reports upon a miniature cable containing a new type of hermetic water barrier. This miniature cable design is intended for FTTD & FTTH applications. Today there is an increasing demand for 2 fibres multimode or singlemode to the desk, driven by greater bandwidth demands such as real time video, Gigabit Ethernet and security applications.
