The sandy beaches of the aquitan coast are exposed to high energy swells that induce strong nearshore currents and greatly influence the sediment transport and the morphological evolution of beaches. From the 14tft to the 19t/l of October 2001, a field experiment has been undertaken on the aquitan coast at True Vert beach in order to characterize hydrodynamics and sediment transport over a complex bathymetry. This paper presents the numerical hindcasting of wave-induced currents and sediment transport using the MORPHODYN code coupled with the wave module SWAN during this field experiment. The simulations show a good agreement with field data for the waves, the longshore currents and the sediment transport patterns.
