This paper presents the current status and roadmap of a Project that started on February 2009 and stillrncontinues growing, related with supervising the México’s northwest region power system using PhasorrnMeasurements Units (PMUs). Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) is a government utility thatrnsupplies electrical energy to the whole country, and it is organized by processes. The northwest controlrncenter operates, administrates and controls the northwest region of the power system.rnThe adoption of this relative new technology of synchrophasor has two major goals: 1) to provide thernpower system operators with real time tools that help them improve the reliability of the power systemrnand 2) acquire and record better information related with power system variables for off-line analysis.rnThe work has been focused in three major areas: 1) PMUs, 2) Communications and 3) Development ofrncomputational applications classified in real time and off-line applications.
