To analyse the impact of different charging strategies on electric vehicle fleets, a realistic demand model has to be simulated. This is done by means of multi-agent micro simulation of the traffic patterns based on statistical data. Additionally the temperature influence has been modelled to determine demand dependency on the season. As a use case the uncontrolled and controlled charging of multi-storage car parks with over 3355 vehicles are compared, when the maximum obtained power from the grid is limited and additional local generation with PV is available. Simulations show that controlled charging – while reducing the maximum power from the grid drastically – has nearly no negative effect on the resulting charged energy and thus range of the vehicles when departing.
