For the thickening filter press of this type, slurry is thickened through pressurizing and filtering with feed pump, and the dry filter cake is not to be formed. As the purpose of slurry concentration is reached by means of pressurizing and filtering, this kind of filter press has the following advantaes compared with the ordinary ones: the feed liquid concentration is not limited; the flocculating agent needs not to be added; the medium being used, the filtrate is clear with the concentration less than 0.05 g/L; the underflow concentration can reach 400 - 600 g/L.
