Preparation and characterization of nano/micro alumina fibers by elcstrospinning

PVP/AlCl3 organic-inorganic hybrid fibers were prepared by using sol-gel processing and electrospinning technique using polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP)、aluminum trichlkride anhydrors (AlCl3)、ethanol and distilled water as materials. Aalumina nano/micro fibers with average diameters of 100~1000nm were obtained after calcination the as-prepared fibers. SEM, IR, XRD were used to characterize nano/micro fiber. The results show that with the concentration and flow rate of spinning solution increasing, the diameter of fibers also increases. And the diameter of fibers decreases with the voltage and collecting distance of PVP increasing. The uncrystalline Al2O3、 γ-Al2O3 and α- Al2O3 were obtained after calcinations for 5h at 450℃,900℃ and 1100℃ respectively.
