Job eliminations, restructures, and turnover have been significant over the past few years and this trend will likely continue into the foreseeable future. This trend can directly impact a company's safety culture since, in some cases, people are unaware of their new roles and are not fully competent to perform their new roles or may have insufficient time to perform those roles properly. To address these issues, FMC has implemented a program to maintain awareness of key safety roles for all managers, to ensure skills/knowledge of safety specialists and to provide guidance in managing personnel changes to ensure a through review of key safety job tasks.
