This paper discusses research results on ICT education in Fiji related to tworndisadvantages for prosperous e-economy but concentrating on the second of them:rnmonopoly of telecommunication market and uncertain supply of human capital withrnICT literacy. The research findings identified problems such as an inadequate ICTrncurriculum, uneven access across the country including ICT education itself, and the insecurity of teachers' contracts and limited opportunities for capacity development. The recommendation is for a holistic approach towards high quality ICT education and its incorporation into the national strategic plan with prompt action for economic development in the broadband age.
