摘要

The restructuring of the market for glass insulators has indicated the need for greater control over the quality of the product, whose technical characteristics are not duly proven in the use of the standard procedures for their evaluation. This paper presents the results of a research project that was carried out in partnership between energy concessionaires and different laboratories, according to electrical and mechanical tests based on standardized methodologies, to evaluate the quality of insulators both the dielectric and design. Measurements of radio interference voltage, impulse puncture testing in air and mechanical failing load test were performed. The results presented were adequate in relation to the representativeness, repeatability, reproducibility and cost-effectiveness characteristics, which are necessaries to propose changing to the relevant standards in a future revision.
