In last years in the industry are widely used refractories of alumina-silicon carbide composition on sialon binder[1], possessing high resistance to the melts of metals and slags. Therefore the study of sialon synthesis as a matrix in sintering process of refractories is actual. In the present paper, the results of researches of β'-sialon synthesis (Si_(6-x)Al_xO_xN_(8-x) with the value of x number equal to ~2) and properties of reaction-sintered alumina products with sialon-containing binder are presented. Silicium, fine dispersed electrofused corundum and alumina of Ukrainian production, and reactive alumina CTC-40 of "Almatis" (Germany) are taken in stoichiometric rations for the sialon synthesis. Pressed briquettes were fired at temperature up to 1450 ℃ in medium of gaseous nitrogen.
