摘要

The new D5S HID system with 25W energy consumption will soon come to the market.The 2000 lumen light source that is driven with 12V could be a simple replacement for the conventional 12V Halogen technology.Looking to luminous flux,the new bulb is placed right between Halogen and 35W Xenon systems.In this paper a photometric benchmark will be given in order to understand the positioning of this new Low and High Beam system.The performance is discussed in relation to the power consumption.As an additional feature,the benefits in traffic safety versus the conventional Halogen light are discussed.
