Representativity of the wind measurements by a laser Doppler anemometer (LDA) in the boundary layer of the atmosphere

Abstract: The representation problem of the LDA wind measurementsin the boundary layer under different atmosphericconditions has been investigated theoretically andexperimentally. The calculations of the mean windvelocity measurement errors for the surface layer underdifferent types of thermal stratification and for theboundary layer under neutral conditions have beencarried out. The theory conclusions are confirmed bythe experimental results. !14
