Abstract: This paper deals with the following problems of the theory of vision: t-effect, influence of a scattering medium and geometric conditions of observation on the image resolution, and hardware and software for elimination of a distorting effect of scattering media on the image quality of extended objects. Additionally, the information on the software developed at the Institute of Atmospheric Optics for modeling the images distorted with specified scattering media is presented. !7
