KNOWLEDGE ASSESSMENT IN DEVELOPING/DEVELOPEDECONOMIES: FRAMEWORKS ANDIMPLEMENTATION EXAMPLES

This research in progress critically presents established methodologies recently adopted by internationalrndevelopment institutions to assess knowledge maturity at the macro-economic level of a nation. It evaluates thernadvantages of specific measurement methodologies, but also contrasts the underlying assumptions of thernmeasurement models. A more comprehensive assessment framework that integrates scorecards models withrnin-country workshops and culture nurturing is proposed. An example of its implementation at the country levelrnis presented. Next steps include comparisons of the proposed methodologies with selected knowledgernassessment initiatives in specific industries/organizations.
