The new waterborne polyurethane modified with both crosslinker and polysiloxanes were prepared by using N-[(1,l-dimethyl-2-acetyl)ethyl]-β-dihydroxyethyl-amino propanamide as crosslinker and α, ω-bis(3-hydroxypropyl)-functionalized polysiloxane for the first time. The viscosity, surface tension, particle diameter and particle size distribution of waterborne polyurethane were measured. The particles morphology of waterborne polyurethane and the morphologies of fractures section, water resistance, solvent resistance, mechanical properties and thermal stability of waterborne polyurethane latex films were investigated.
