摘要

A slender cantilever beam made of transversely isotropic piezoelectric material subjected to subtangential follower forces at the free end is considered. An independent subtangential parameter λ is introduced to reflect the ratio of the conservative and non-conservative components of the load. The governing equations with the bending strain and the axial strain at the bending axis are derived according to the principle of virtual work for non-conservative system. It is found from the linear solutions that only when the condition 0 ≤ λ ≤ 0.5 is satisfied, the configuration of static equilibrium exists and the buckling load depends on λ. The post-buckling behavior and the shortening of the beam are presented. Especially, the voltage U = φ(L) - φ(0) generated by post-buckling configuration is discussed, which becomes larger when λ → 0.5 .
