Commercial valuation of hydocarbon resources

A practical business process is described which enables all categories of hydrocarbon resources to be valued in a commercially consistent manner. The benefits of the process are increased if there is a transparent corporate strategic plan which can be used to test the value of a resource against a desired portfolio, described quantitatively in terms of value and risk. Individual opportunities for both acquisition and disposal can then be measured against an assessed "Corporate preference profile" and pursued with increased confience in the overall fit.
