摘要

Experimental researches and computer simulations are presented in this paper on dynamics behaviors of free-free tubes laterally impacted by flat-nosed cylindrical missiles at the mid-point of their spans. For free-free tubes with different diameters, lengths and material properties, the deformation processes, final modes and energy distributions are studied, and compared with those of free-free beams. Simultaneously, the critical velocities of the tubes are obtained when penetrations occur.
