STUDIES ON COMPATIBILITY OF PARAQUAT DICHLORIDE WITH OTHER HERBICIDES FOR WEED CONTROL IN SUGARCANE

Field studies were conducted during 2003-04 and 2004-05 to study the compatibility of paraquat dichloride with other herbicides. Top spray of atrazine 2.5 kg/ha a.I. With paraquat dichloride 0.360 a.I. Lit/ha at 30 DAP had better weed control, tillering and height; which together reflected in increasing the cane yield by 24.72 t/ha and sugar yield by 4.32 t/ha over the control (56.62 and 8.06, respectively), [Maximum net profit (Rs. 21,646/ha) and B:C ratio (1.74)].
