Soybean Varietal Investigation in Nepal

For intercropping with maize, the genotypes CN 60 and PK 327 and PK 416 Chaing Maw 60-6 were better than Local Sathia, in terms of grain yield and earliness in maturity. The genotypes were promoted to farmer's field trials. In terms of fresh pod yield, seed size and maturity, the best genotypes in vegetable soybeans were Huaichin#2, (scented), Gaoxiong#2 and Suaidachung among imported and Sathia in local varieties. These genotypes should be promoted to wider testing in farmer's field and recommended.
